Connue en Belgique pour avoir accompagné sur scène et en show TV des artistes comme Lara Fabian, Zap Mama ou encore Daniel Levi, Fily Leela est constamment en quête d’harmonie, dans sa musique, comme dans sa vie d’artiste et de maman.

Tantôt fleur bleue hypersensible, tantôt lionne puissante, Fily se dévoile chaque jour dans ses chansons, au rythme de ses émotions. Un peu de rose. Ou alors du bleu ? De jour, ou plutôt de nuit. L’artiste belge est consciente qu’elle a besoin de contraste et de se recentrer pour trouver un commun accord entre elle et elle-même. Son pilier pour tout rééquilibrer : sa vie mouvementée de chanteuse, artiste, maman ; et tout ça à plein temps ! “Avec quelques bribes de Disney par-ci, par-là” sourit-elle, espiègle. Éternelle angoissée par le fait que toutes les belles choses aient une fin, Fily garde son âme d’enfant, tout en ayant conscience que la vie file à vive allure et qu’elle doit en profiter à fond !

D’ailleurs, ça lui rappelle des souvenirs.. “J’étais tellement rêveuse devant mes princesses sur la télévision cathodique du salon”. Fily chantait encore et encore ses BO d’animations préférées, jusqu’à entrer à l’académie à ses 7 ans, pour y apprendre le chant choral, le solfège et le piano. Elle n’aurait pas imaginé un seul instant que quelques années plus tard, elle serait choisie pour être voix de doublage dans Princesse Sofia, Pokémon, Elena D’avalor ou encore Mon petit poney… ! Sa vie prend un tournant dans la musique, lorsqu’elle devient soliste dans un groupe de gospel et fait ses premières tournées européennes. Toutes ses petites voix intérieures lui fredonnent que c’est le moment pour elle d’écrire et composer ses propres chansons. Au fil de ses toplines, les années défilent et elle finit par entrer en studio pour auto-produire un premier album aux influences soul, gospel et musiques latines, qu’elle défendra sur scène, en première partie de Tina Arena.

Fily Leela enchaîne alors les concerts, les tournées et les émissions de télévision pour accompagner de grandes voix belges et françaises. La scène devient alors son milieu naturel et le casting de ses harmonies ne s’arrête pas à la première ligne de ce pitch, elle y ajoute Matt Pokora, Julien Doré, Nolwenn Leroy, Patrick Fiori, Patrick Bruel ou encore Pascal Obispo.

Repos forcé et bien méritée en 2020, Fily prend ce “seule face à moi-même” comme un moyen de se concentrer sur son projet musical et amorce un premier virage vers des artistes qui l’inspirent aujourd’hui : Charlotte Cardin, London Grammar, India Arie. Plutôt pop, avec des sonorités électro, une hype moderne des années 2000 et une direction artistique colorée. Pétillante, l’autrice-compositrice interprète commence à se livrer sur ses relations, amicales et amoureuses, saines et toxiques, dans la danse et dans la douceur.

Au fil de plusieurs singles en anglais et d’un EP à venir en français, Fily, petit papillon devenu phoenix, fait renaître ses souvenirs pour retrouver son enfant intérieur et partager sa vie de femme indépendante, maman de deux enfants en bas âge, amie fidèle et artiste ! “J’ai parfois l’impression de marcher sur le No Man’s Land”. Au milieu de toute cette agitation, la belge optimiste à la recherche du bien-être, accueille ses moments de solitude comme une chance de se recentrer, d’apprendre à s’aimer avec bienveillance ; de trouver du positif dans le négatif, de la joie dans la tristesse et du réconfort dans la peur, dans l’imprévu, ou dans les bras de quelqu’un. Un ami, un mari ou un enfant.

Sometimes a hypersensitive blue flower, sometimes a powerful lioness, Fily reveals herself every day in her songs, to the rhythm of her emotions. A little pink. Or maybe blue? By day, or rather by night. The Belgian artist is aware that she needs contrast and refocusing to find harmony between herself and herself. Her mainstay for rebalancing everything: her hectic life as a singer, artist and mother – and all of that full-time! “With a few snippets of Disney here and there,” she smiles mischievously. Eternally anxious about the fact that all good things come to an end, Fily has kept her childlike spirit, while being aware that life flies by at breakneck speed and that she has to make the most of it!

In fact, it brings back memories for her… “I was so dreamy in front of my princesses on the cathode-ray television in the living room”. Fily sang her favourite animated soundtracks over and over again, until she entered the academy at the age of 7, to learn choral singing, music theory and piano. She would never have imagined for a moment that a few years later she would be chosen to do voice-overs for Princess Sofia, Pokémon, Elena D’avalor and Mon petit poney…!

Her life took a musical turn when she became a soloist in a gospel group and did her first European tours. All her little inner voices were humming to her that this was the moment for her to write and compose her own songs. As the years went by, she finally went into the studio to self-produce a first album influenced by soul, gospel and Latin music, which she defended on stage, opening for Tina Arena.

Fily Leela then embarked on a series of concerts, tours and television programmes, accompanying some of Belgium’s and France’s leading vocalists. The stage became her natural environment, and the cast of her harmonies didn’t stop at the first line of this pitch: she added Matt Pokora, Julien Doré, Nolwenn Leroy, Patrick Fiori, Patrick Bruel and Pascal Obispo.

Forced to take a well-deserved break in 2020, Fily took this “alone time” as a way of concentrating on her musical project and began a first turn towards artists who inspire her today: Charlotte Cardin, London Grammar, India Arie. More pop, with electro sounds, modern 2000s hype and a colourful artistic direction. Sparkling, the singer-songwriter begins to open up about her relationships, friendships and love affairs, healthy and toxic, dancing and gentle.

Over the course of several singles in English and a forthcoming EP in French, Fily, the little butterfly turned phoenix, revives her memories to rediscover her inner child and share her life as an independent woman, mother of two young children, loyal friend and artist! “Sometimes I feel like I’m walking on No Man’s Land”. In the midst of all this turmoil, the Belgian optimist in search of well-being welcomes her moments of solitude as a chance to refocus, to learn to love herself with kindness; to find the positive in the negative, joy in sadness and comfort in fear, in the unexpected, or in someone’s arms.
